Footage has recently emerged, showing a landslide blocking a road in Keelung, Taiwan.
Furthermore, the incident took place at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 3, near the Beining Road entrance to Chaojing Park.
A rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene, along with dogs and divers, which later confirmed that nobody was trapped under the rubble.
The Keelung City Fire Bureau confirmed that seven cars, two trucks, and a motorcycle had been affected by the landslide, while some of them were crushed by the debris.
According to the country’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the road is expected to reopen again on Tuesday, June 11.
Highway Bureau representatives said that safety nets had been installed along high-risk sections of the road and consultants would be brought on-scene during the following days.
The Bureau also stated that eight crushers, four dump trucks, one water truck, and several engineers were working to clear the road.
Taiwan’s Minister of Transportation and Communications, Lee Men-yen, said that possible causes behind the landslide are continuous heavy rain, combined with the recent earthquakes.
