A new island was formed south of Japan after the eruption of an undersea volcano, only two months after a similar appearance of an island formed by Pakistan earthquake.
According to the Japanese coast guard, the island is about 660 feet (200 meters) in diameter, producing smoke in a height of almost 600 meters. The surrounded area including approximately 30 islands and the rest of Japan is well known for its seismic activity. Similar formations in the region that were witnessed in the past were partially or completely eroded by the sea. So, it’s not certain yet if the island is permanent or possible to vanish by tides, as Hiroshi Ito, a coast card volcanologist, told FNN news.
