The heavy rain that has plagued China this year continues and more areas are experiencing flooding as a result. In the Hunan Province, there were several landslides on Monday that caused significant damage and swept away houses and other buildings in Morong.
Over 650 residents were evacuated before the landslide and as of now, no casualties have been reported. However, more than 244,000 people from five villages have been affected. Reports say that seventeen houses have been destroyed along with another 70 or so that have been damaged. All major lines of transportation into the area have been closed including roadways and the rail line. Workers have already begun repairs on the roadways.
