Hundreds of people have been killed and almost 3 million were affected by floods and previous storms in Southeast Asia. In Cambodia residents evacuated the area around Mekong River due to the river’s overflow and many houses, schools, bridges and roads were influenced by the floods in many nations.
The Typhoon Wutip, which passed through Vietnam on 30th of September, was an additional deteriorating factor. Thailand and Laos were also affected by the typhoon but authorities reassured that these areas escaped the risk of disaster as the storm was weakening. However, further precaution measures should be taken in order to protect the countries from future storms, as Deputy Prime Minister Podprasop Suraswadi said.
