A large landslide took place in Pakistan, in the early hours of Tuesday, April 18.
Furthermore, the incident occurred at the Khyber Pass, near the Afghan border, which is a major trade route between Pakistan and Central Asian states.
It has been reported so far that at least two people lost their lives in the event, while eight more were injured. In addition to this, more than twenty trucks were buried in the landslide as well as twenty to twenty five containers, according to deputy commissioner of the Khyber district, Abdul Nasir Khan.
Bilal Faizi, spokesperson for the Rescue 1122 service in the province, told Al Jazeera that there were 60 people working on debris removal.
Faizi also stated that the landslide occurred after rain and thunderstorm.
