A landslide in the English coastal town of St Leonards-on-Sea led to several cliff top properties being evacuated, just ten days after a previous incident.
Furthermore, the landslide took place in East Sussex’s coastal town on the evening of Wednesday, November the 15th, while just 10 days prior to the event, two more landslides had caused the evacuation of 13 properties in the same area, between West Hill Road and Marina.
A Victorian conservatory, previously used as a billiards room, was severely damaged by the landslide, reported a local resident to BBC Radio Sussex.
He went on to say that the building had been “engulfed with loose mud and concrete” as well as “absolutely destroyed”.
Aerial photographs and videos show the extent of damage and the current state of the site.
According to Hastings Borough Council, officers along with structural engineers have visited the site and carried out risk assessments, while a full report from the engineers is underway.
It was also made known by the authorities that three people were affected by the landslide and have been offered temporary accommodation elsewhere.
