Bentley Systems, announced the finalists for the subsurface modeling and analysis finalists in the 2025 Going Digital Awards. The awards celebrate the extraordinary achievements of engineers and project teams in advancing infrastructure for better quality of life through digital innovation.
The 2025 Going Digital Awards finalists demonstrate how leading infrastructure engineering and construction companies and owner-operators are transforming project delivery and asset performance. Finalists across 12 categories were selected by independent panels of global industry experts from among nearly 250 nominations submitted by organizations in 47 countries.
“We are inspired by the ways infrastructure professionals continue to deliver better, more resilient infrastructure, despite so many global challenges, from climate change to infrastructure workforce shortages,” said Chris Bradshaw, chief sustainability and education officer, Bentley Systems. “This year’s Going Digital Awards finalists demonstrate the tangible impact advances in AI, digital twins, and more are having in driving greater productivity and resilience across the infrastructure lifecycle.”
Finalists will present their projects at Bentley’s Year in Infrastructure conference in Amsterdam, with the winners announced on October 16. This global gathering of infrastructure leaders highlights the trends and technologies shaping infrastructure sectors.

Fervo Energy: Cape Station
Located in Beaver County, Utah, in close proximity to existing transmission lines and high-quality sources of geological data, Cape Station is the world’s largest next-generation geothermal energy development. Fervo Energy is delivering the multiphased project that, upon completion of the first two phases, will produce 500 megawatts of clean power. To derisk drilling conditions at the project, Fervo needed to create 3D geomodels accessible to the exploration team and individuals across five offices in three different time zones.
Leveraging Oasis Montaj and Leapfrog, Fervo generated detailed 3D subsurface characterization models accessible in Seequent Central’s centralized environment. Bentley’s integrated applications provided a flexible and purpose-built platform for geothermal workflows, allowing the team to visualize, track, and manage large geoscientific datasets and know what to expect while drilling. The digital models enabled accurate geologic and temperature predictions to meet the requirements for an optimally designed power plant, accelerating planning and financing, shortening development timelines.

Flux Energy Solutions: Geothermal field optimization using numerical simulation and AI
To support Turkey’s renewable energy goals, optimizing geothermal reservoir performance of a 69.5- megawatt field, Flux Energy was engaged to perform advanced numerical simulation and AI-driven proxy modeling for sustainable reservoir management. The size, complexity, and fractured nature of the reservoir presented modeling, data processing, integration, and simulation challenges that manual methods and prior conventional software failed to address. Flux needed a fast, scalable, and geothermal-focused digital platform to accurately simulate 3,000 scenarios and integrate results with AI models.
Flux selected Volsung for its robust processing and automation features and fully integrated geothermal simulation environment, allowing them to manage thousands of simulation scenarios with high fidelity and efficiency. Bentley’s geothermal simulation application shortened modeling time by 80%, compressing a 60-month project into 12 months, and reduced project delivery costs by 76%. The platform enabled Flux to deliver a model that will evolve with new data and AI integration, forming a lasting digital asset that will support decision-making and ensure reliable, sustainable geothermal energy output for the region.

Anglo American: Integrated risk management for open pit operations
To ensure safety and reliability of Anglo American’s Barro Alto Nickel mining operations in Brazil, Anglo initiated a project to digitalize geotechnical risk management processes. Traditional manual methods and disconnected software proved unreliable and error prone. Anglo needed an integrated technology solution to combine geochemical, geological-structural, and geotechnical data into a dynamic 3D model bringing agility, reliability, and collaboration to their workflow, and minimizing risk of geotechnical failures that could damage the environment and jeopardize lives.
Anglo selected Leapfrog to create dynamic 3D models and a digital twin, and Seequent Central and Bentley ProjectWise to ensure that all stakeholders have seamless access to the models. The applications reduced model update time by 75% and centralized document and data management. The collaborative digital workflows and digital twin provide real-time, accurate data and insight into the geotechnical conditions of the mine. Anglo’s new digital methodology can be replicated across their global mining operations, representing a significant step forward in risk management, operational safety, and technical data governance
