Footage has emerged from the moment a large landslide covered a busy highway that links the cities of Quibdo and Medellin in Colombia’s Pacific province of Choco.
Furthermore, the event depicted in the video occurred on the afternoon of Friday, January 12, near the Carmen de Atrato community.
The cause of the landslides has not been known yet, but it has been stated that heavy rain had been pouring in the area.
According to the BBC, traffic on the highway had been disrupted by earlier landslides, while some 60 people had left their cars to find shelter in a nearby house, which was later overtopped by the landslide.
So far it has been announced that 36 people lost their lives in the events, while 7 more remain missing.
