Description:

The SAA Field Power Unit (SAAFPU)  is  a  portable  unit  designed  to  supply  power  to  an  SAA,  and  to  convert cominunications protocols allowing for communication via USB between the SAA and a PC running the SAARecorder application in SAASuite. It is designed for use in the field or in the office when manually collecting data from an SAA. The SAAFPU contains a 12 V,7 Ah non spillable rechargeable battery which is used to power the SAA. It also contains an isolated SAA digitaI interface with: integrated power switch, surge suppression, and a battery charge indicator to readily observe the battery charge level. SAA power supply is conditioned by a DC/DC converter that boosts the battery voltage to 13.5V (or 16.SV set through software). This allows for the voltage to be increased, when necessary, for long SAA cables. An auxiliary 4-pin terminaI block is included and can be used to power other equipment such as a radio modem, or to check the battery voltage. To recharge the battery, plug the unit into a standard power outlet. The SAAFPU is fully sealed and splash resistant to IP67 when closed. To maintain lP67 in operation, connect SAA to the exterior 4-pin connector, use the wireless adapters, and keep the Iid closed.
