Briaud has made significant contributions as President of these organizations. In ISSMGE for example, he introduced new energy to the organization, by establishing active committees that report to the board. These committees engaged young members, helped the organization adopt information technology, started a major open-access webinar series that educates professionals globally, engaged the companies as stakeholders of the organization, and even founded the ISSMGE Foundation that funds tens of individuals every year from poor countries to attend geotechnical conferences.
Briaud wants to bring his ideas, and those of others in his “listening campaign”, to the ASCE. You can view his ASCE Vision Statement here: https://www.asce.org/templates/person-candidate-detail.aspx?id=14988
Voting is open for ASCE members until June 3rd 2019. To vote visit here: https://www.asce.org/votenow
