With 55% of its terrain located on areas prone to landslides, the Geotechnical Engineering Office of Taipei City Government, launched a mobile application providing its 2.7 million citizens access to solid information on slope safety and stability.
The application is available to download free of charge on both Android and iOS platforms and allows users to access information on the areas most vulnerable to landslides, debris flow and other natural disasters. The government authorities believe that the application will reduce the risk of people being affected by landslides and other natural hazards and is going to provide easy and immediate access to data to be used for evaluation of land development.
