Slide3 is a 3D slope stability analysis software based on our best-selling Slide2 software. With Slide3 most of the analysis features found in Slide2 are now available in full 3D, including complex geology, anisotropic materials, loading and support.
Download DocumentationCreated in 2017, Slide3 (formerly “Slide3”) is a new tool that allows geotechnical engineers to calculate the factor of safety of complex 3D slope stability geometries that 2D models cannot fully simulate. Model advanced geometries like landslides, MSE walls, slopes supported by soil nails, and more. With Slide3, users can calculate failures in any direction without the need for defining the direction in advance, increasing efficiency in modeling and analysis. Computing large models can take time, but with advanced parallel processing, Slide3 runs analyses over 10x faster than competitors.
Identify critical failure surfaces and compute the correct factor of safety using a combination of global metaheuristic search methods like Multi-modal Optimization, Spline Search Method and local Surface-altering Technology. With parallel processing added for both failure searching and FS computations, results can now be generated within minutes.
Easily construct 3D slope stability models by importing block models from mine planning software like Leapfrog Deswik, Datamine and Vulcan or bring terrains together with their textures. Streamline your workflow and get more detailed insights by integrating 3D wireframes (representing surveyed topography, geological surfaces, modelled faults, etc.) directly into your 3D models.
The Spline Search method provides you with greater flexibility for capturing complex failure mechanisms. Transform the shape of a slip surface, accurately define the shape of the failure surface, and identify the correct FoS in your geometry.
Designed to provide you with accurate topography for geometry creation, using Terrain Generator, directly import terrains along with their textures from satellite maps. Compare & verify the accuracy of your failure surface with the drone-captured image.
The multi-section creator allows you to create multiple 2D Slide2 sections in Slide3 while running a 3D analysis. View the different 2D sections and their failure surfaces while comparing them with your 3D analyses at the same time.
Slide3 has an integrated system for defining one or many Slide2 sections along a user-defined path. Slide3 can then directly import these sections to Slide2 for computation. The 2D analyses are then brought back into Slide3 to view in conjunction with the 3D results.
Slide3 and RS3 are built on the same underlying geometry interface platform, making model transfer between the two programs seamless. RS3 models are automatically built from Slide3 models, making 3D Shear Strength Reduction analyses and comparison between limit-equilibrium and finite-element results extremely easy.
The integration between Slide3 and RSPile allows you to use piles created in RSPile and then add them into Slide3 as a Support Type. You can also perform a pre-analysis of piles straight from the Slide3 interface.
