A new chapter in offshore geotechnical investigation begins with the launch of Bridgewater Discovery, a newly refurbished, high-performance survey vessel. Originally built in 2008 and extensively rebuilt in 2024, Bridgewater Discovery is now equipped to meet the demands of complex marine site investigations — particularly in the offshore wind and energy sectors.
Spanning 76 meters in length with a 20-meter beam, the vessel features a dynamic positioning (DP2) system and a heave-compensated twin tower drilling rig capable of reaching depths of up to 300 meters below the seabed. Its enhanced capabilities position it at the forefront of geotechnical surveying for high-capacity offshore projects.

Tools That Transform Data into Action
At the heart of this high-performance survey vessel lies a comprehensive suite of geotechnical equipment. From seismic CPT and seabed cone penetration testing systems to vibrocore samplers and PS Loggers, the vessel can deliver precise in-situ data essential for offshore wind and infrastructure development. Onboard, a 55-square meter soil lab provides real-time processing capabilities, significantly accelerating data delivery and project timelines.
This robust platform is also equipped with a 60-ton knuckle boom crane and accommodations for up to 59 personnel, reinforcing its role as a floating operations base for long-duration offshore missions.
