Pile driving has started under the surveillance of Walsh Construction to support overpasses that are part of the Ohio River bridges project. The used piles are steel H-piles 150-feet long and consist of two welded pieces of 75-feet each one. They are driven 120-feet to the bedrock so the rest 30-feet are above the surface. Diesel-powered hammers driven by cranes were used for the project. Noise and dust in the air are inevitable consequences that the project managers have to deal with.
