Tim Hayashi, Senior Engineer for Mesa County said "We expected to see water-related changes in the landslide during spring runoff, but one of the looming questions has been: What would the pond do?"
It is said that citizens near the area do not face an extra safety risk but Timothy Hayashi, Senior Engineer for Mesa County explained "Level one is get ready, level two is get set, level three is go. The landslide is unknown, we don't know what could happen with it, so it's potentially dangerous the whole time."
Cameras and other devices are used to monitor the area around the clock and notify the authorities in case any movement occurs.
