The International Association of Foundation Drilling, the Geo-Institute of ASCE, and the Pile Driving Contractors Association will be conducting an international foundation engineering and construction conference, known as the International Foundation Congress and Equipment Expo (IFCEE), in Orlando Florida, March 15-19, 2009, at the Buena Vista Resort Hotel.
In early March 2009, ADSC: The International Association of Foundation Drilling, the Geo-Institute of ASCE, and the Pile Driving Contractors Association will be conducting an international foundation engineering and construction conference that will include the largest foundation equipment and services exhibition ever held. Known as the International Foundation Congress and Equipment Expo (IFCEE), the mega-event will be held in Orlando Florida, March 15-19, 2009, at the Buena Vista Resort Hotel. Congress Chairman Mohamad Hussein, GRL Engineers, Inc., Orlando, FL, reports that the program will feature over fifty 90-inute technical sessions, seven pre-congress Short Courses, the prestigious Peck and Terzaghi Lectures, and a Student Geo Competition. In addition to the design engineering-oriented presentations, the program will include five full sessions devoted to construction related topics such as Project Management; Contracts; Risk Management; Safety Director Training; Equipment Maintenance; and Hydraulics. The audience will be comprised of a mix of consulting engineers, specialty subcontractors, general contractors, department of transportation representatives, and academicians. The G-I, and the PDCA will be conducting their annual meetings, and the three sponsoring organizations will be presenting their individual annual awards. Fifteen leading Cooperating Organizations from throughout the world have joined as official supporters of the conference including organizations from Canada, China, Japan, Russia, and Singapore, as well as virtually every foundation engineering and construction association in the U.S.
Congress Proceedings Executive Editor, Magued Iskander, Brooklyn Polytechnical Institute, anticipates receiving over 300 submittals for publication. Jan Hall, the Director of the Equipment EXPO, expects over 150 outdoor and indoor exhibitors, which will include all of the world’s major deep foundation and shoring equipment manufacturers and distributors. In addition, there will be a vast array of providers of design, testing and materials for the industries represented. A similar conference jointly sponsored by the ADSC and the G-I held in 2004 was completely sold out.
The Technical Tracks for the Congress include state-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice presentations by industry leaders on the design, construction, and testing of every conceivable deep foundation and geo-support technology, as well as presentations on related geo-industry-oriented topics.
