It was announced earlier this month that the popular Navagio Beach in Greece will remain closed this summer.
Furthermore, Greece’s National Earthquake Planning and Protection Organization (EPPO) conducted an on-the-spot inspection, led by its president Efthymios Lekkas, on March 8.
The stability of the surrounding slopes was assessed during this inspection and extensive landslide risk along the beach’s perimeter was identified.
It is worth mentioning that the beach was once again closed to the public last September due to safety concerns.
Finally, a landslide in 2018 resulted in a ban of access to the beach, after seven people got injured by it.
