Hyderabad Metro opened

The Hyderabad Metro is a rapid transit system, serving the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is the third longest operational metro network in India after Delhi Metro and Namma Metro (Bengaluru), and the lines are arranged in a secant model. Hyderabad Metro is the world's largest elevated Metro Rail system based on DBFOT basis (Design, Built, Finance, Operate and Transfer). Phase I of the project includes 3 lines covering a distance of around 72 kilometres (45 mi). The metro rail line between Nagole and Secunderabad was originally scheduled open by December 2015; it was partly opened on 29 November 2017 and the entire 67 km (42 mi) phase 1 completed in 2020. As of February 2020, about 490,000 people use the Metro per day.

Sempor Dam failure

Sempor Dam is an embankment dam on the Sempor River in District Gombong, Kebumen, Central Java Province, Republic of Indonesia. Construction on the dam started in 1967 but in the same year water from flash floods over-topped it, causing the dam to fail on 29 November 1967. The wave of water killed 160 people in three towns, including Magelang, and delivered widespread damage to the area. Construction later restarted on the dam and it was completed in 1978. Its power station was later commissioned in 1980.

The 1783 New Jersey earthquake occurred on November 29 in New Jersey. With a magnitude estimated at 5.3, it stands as the most powerful earthquake to occur in the state.

1732 Irpinia earthquake

The 1732 Irpinia earthquake was a seismic event with a magnitude of 6.6 that affected Irpinia and part of Sannio. The epicenter was located in the Campanian Apennines, in the area of the Ufita Valley, which is part of the modern-day Province of Avellino. Around twenty populated areas were destroyed entirely or in part and tens of others were significantly damaged. The number of deaths was estimated to be 1,940. Damage from the earthquake was classified as "severe" (indicating damage between $5 and US$24 million), and the number of homes destroyed as classified as "many" (indicating between 101 and 1,000 homes). The earthquake had a rating on the modified Mercalli intensity scale of X (extreme).

The 1114 Marash earthquake occurred in the area of Marash during the early morning hours of November 29, 1114. The magnitude was estimated at 7.4-7.7 Ms and assigned a maximum EMS-92 intensity of IX.
