Jakarta International Stadium grand opening
Located in Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, Indonesia, Jakarta International Stadium is a retractable roof football stadium. It is the largest capacity retractable roof stadium in Asia and the second largest retractable roof stadium by capacity in the world, just behind AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Santiago de Compostela derailment
The Santiago de Compostela derailment occurred on 24 July 2013, when an Alvia high-speed train traveling from Madrid to Ferrol, in the north-west of Spain, derailed at high speed on a bend about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) outside of the railway station at Santiago de Compostela. Of the 178 people injured, the provisional number of deaths in hospital had reached 79 by the following 28 July.
Delhi Dam collapse
Delhi Dam, also known as Hartwick Dam, is an embankment dam on the Maquoketa River 2.5 km southwest of Delhi, Iowa that created Lake Delhi. The dam was over-topped and subsequently failed on July 24, 2010 after a period of heavy rain. It was rebuilt in 2016.
International Commerce Centre construction started
The International Commerce Centre is a 108-story, 484 m (1,588 ft) supertall skyscraper, on top of Elements, and near Kowloon station in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. It is the world's 13th tallest by height, 10th tallest by number of floors, also Hong Kong's tallest and the only building with over 100 stories. The official height is 490 m, which made by the 6 m tall parapets on the roof. It was the world's 4th tallest and 3rd in Asia when completed in 2010.
1982 Nagasaki flood
On July 23, 1982, due to the influence of the Meiyu front, a cloudburst occurred around Nagasaki. Due to this cloudburst, mudflows and rivers overflowed their banks in quick succession. Throughout the Nagasaki area, following rainfall observed at 100 to 187 mm a per hour, as well as landslides throughout the area. According to the Japanese government report, 299 people died in Nagasaki Prefecture, along with 23 in Kumamoto Prefecture.
