Bayside Bridge (Pinellas County, Florida) opened

Connecting Clearwater and Largo (both in Florida), Bayside Bridge is a six-lane twin-span girder bridge that provides direct, unmitigated access from eastern Clearwater to St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport.

June 1990 Lower Ohio Valley tornado outbreak began

The June 1990 Lower Ohio Valley tornado outbreak spawned 65 tornadoes, including seven of F4 intensity, in southern Illinois, central and southern Indiana, southwestern Ohio, and northern Kentucky on June 2-3, 1990. Across Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky, the entire outbreak resulted in 9 dead and 313 homes destroyed.

Naum Torbov died

Bulgarian architect Naum Torbov was a follower of the national romantic current in architecture, with more than a hundred public, residential and industrial buildings constructed from his designs in the cities of Sofia, Oryahovo, Silistra, Botevgrad and Mezdra. The most notable building he designed is Sofia Central Market Hall (pictured).
