2014 Badakhshan mudslides
The Badakhshan mudslides were a pair of mudslides occurred in Argo District, Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan. Around 300 houses were buried and over 14,000 were affected. Rescuers responding to the initial mudslide were struck by a second mudslide, which hampered rescue efforts.
Cyclone Nargis
Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm Nargis made landfall in Myanmar on Friday, 2 May 2008, sending a storm surge 40 kilometres up the densely populated Irrawaddy delta, causing catastrophic destruction and at least 138,373 fatalities.
Stade de France construction started

Called as the "New Bridge" and the "M Bridge" by Memphians, Hernando de Soto Bridge is a tied-arch bridge carrying Interstate 40 across the Mississippi River between West Memphis, Arkansas, and Memphis, Tennessee. It has a total length is 9,432.6 feet (2,875 m) and its longest span is 900 feet (274 m). The bridge is illuminated at night by LED lighting which can display various color patterns.
Budapest Metro opened
The oldest electrified underground railway system in the world, the Budapest Metro serves the Hungarian capital Budapest. The first line was inaugurated on May 2, 1896 by emperor Franz Joseph. As of 2023, it comprises 4 lines with 48 stations and a total length of 39.7 km (24.7 mi).
