Cebu - Cordova Link Expressway inaugurated
The Cebu - Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) is an 8.9-kilometer (5.5 mi) toll bridge expressway in Metro Cebu, Philippines. Its longest span is 390 m (1,280 ft) and is the longest and tallest bridge in the Philippines.
2011 Super Outbreak
The 2011 Super Outbreak was the largest, costliest, and one of the deadliest tornado outbreaks ever recorded, taking place in the Southern, Midwestern, and Northeastern United States from April 25 to 28, 2011. April 27 was the most active day where 216 tornadoes touched down.
One World Trade Center construction started
The main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City, One World Trade Center, also known as One World Trade, One WTC, and formerly the Freedom Tower is the tallest building in the United States, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, and the seventh-tallest in the world. Including its spire, it reaches a total height of 1,776 feet (541 m), with its height in feet being a deliberate reference to the year when the United States Declaration of Independence was signed.
William Hudson was born
Sir William Hudson was a New Zealand-born engineer who headed construction of the Snowy Mountains Scheme for hydroelectricity and irrigation in Australia from 1949 to 1967, when he reluctantly retired at 71.
