Rana Plaza collapse

The 2013 Rana Plaza factory collapse was a structural failure that occurred on 24 April 2013 in the Savar Upazila of Dhaka District, Bangladesh, where an eight-story commercial building called Rana Plaza collapsed. 1,134 people lost their lives and about 2,500 were injured in the event.

Bursaray opened

Located in the city of Bursa, Marmara Region, Turkey, is a rapid transit system consisting of two lines with a total length of 38.9 km (24.2 mi). It serves 38 stations (of which 7 are underground), with most using island platforms.

Woolworth Building opened

One of the early American skyscrapers, Woolworth Building was designed by architect Cass Gilbert located at 233 Broadway in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. It was the tallest building in the world from 1913 to 1930, with a height of 792 feet (241 m).
