Jewel Changi Airport soft opening
Jewel Changi Airport (also known as Jewel or Jewel Changi) is a nature-themed entertainment and retail complex surrounded by and linked to one of the passenger terminals of Changi Airport, Singapore. It covers a total gross floor area of 135,700 m2 (1,461,000 sq ft) and includes gardens, attractions, a hotel, about 300 retail and dining outlets, as well as early baggage check-in aviation facilities.
West Fertilizer Company explosion
West Fertilizer Company storage and distribution facility was located in West, Texas, United States (18 miles (29 km) north of Waco). With the emergency services personnel already responding to a fire at the facility, an ammonium nitrate explosion occurred. Fifteen people were killed, more than 160 were injured, and more than 150 buildings were damaged or destroyed.
Chongqing International Trade and Commerce Center construction started
The International Land-Sea Center is a 98 storey, 458.2 m (1,503 ft) tall mixed use skyscraper under construction in Chongqing, China. The tower's design is inspired by the sailing ships that once crowded the waters of the surrounding Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. Upon completion (estimated in 2024) it will become the tallest building in Chongqing, and one of the tallest buildings in China.
