The Lotte World Tower opened to the public

555-metre (1,821 ft) 123-story supertall skyscraper Lotte World Tower is located in Sincheon-dong, Songpa, Seoul, South Korea. It is currently the tallest building in South Korea and the sixth tallest in the world.

1974 Super Outbreak

The 1974 Super Outbreak was the second-largest tornado outbreak on record for a single 24-hour period, just behind the 2011 Super Outbreak. It was also the most violent tornado outbreak ever recorded, with 30 F4/F5 tornadoes confirmed. From April 3-4, 1974, there were 148 tornadoes confirmed in 13 U.S. states and the Canadian province of Ontario.

Albert Fink died

German-born civil engineer Albert Fink is best known for his railroad bridge designs, which helped revolutionize the use of iron for American railroad bridge construction. He devised the Fink truss and many truss bridges, especially the Fink-Type Truss Bridge.

Hogs Back Dam collapse

Located in Ottawa, Upper Canada, the dam failed and washed away down the Rideau River. A new dam of a different design was built atop the foundation of the original later that same year.
