The GBA Business Practices Committee conducted a survey about the financial state of Geoprofessional Firms that comprise ASFE/The Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA). The survey refers to the statements of the last 6 months and the predictions for the next 6 months. 34% of the responses came from the western USA.
The report shows a significant rise of the number of requests for proposal (RFPs) and proposals submitted. 83% of respondents reported steady or increasing workloads, 85% steady or increasing revenue and 43% increasing staff size over the last 6 months compared to the previous period (October 2012-March 2013). Concerning the next 6 months, only 3% of respondents expect more staffing reductions compared to 16% that was 6 months ago. On the contrary, 49% anticipate increasing revenues instead of 75% in March, showing less optimism about the future.
