Heavy Metal Contamination Alert in Ghana 1. Mercury: Soils & water contaminated above safe limits; fish mostly safe, but crops need methylmercury checks. 2. Lead: Some water & fish samples exceed safety thresholds; pumpkin leaves hit 31× safe levels. 3. Arsenic: Extremely high in soils, water & food crops — serious health risks. 4. Cadmium: Low but requires monitoring. Urgent need for food, water & soil monitoring to protect communities.
