This program is used for the design of spread footings (spread or strip footing) subject to general load. It computes vertical and horizontal bearing capacity, settlement and rotation of a footing, and determines required longitudinal and shear reinforcement (punching). The main features of GEO5 Spread Footing program are:
- Analyses are based on a large number of theories (EC 7, PN, IS, Brinch-Hansen, Meyerhof, Vesic)
- Various theories of settlement analysis (Janbu, NEN-Buismann, Soft soil, using index and coefficient
- of compression, secondary settlement according to Ladd)
- Verification analysis can be performed employing EN 1997-1, LRFD or classical approach (limit states, the factor of safety)
- EN 1997 – option to choose partial factors based on National Annexes
- EN 1997 – option to choose all design approaches, consider design situations
- Design of reinforced concrete according to EN 1992 (EC 2), BS, PN, IS, ACI, GP, SNiP, CSN
- Shapes of foundation - centric, eccentric, strip footing, circular, stepped centric, stepped eccentric, stepped circular, spread footing with the haunch
- Automatic design of dimensions of spread footing foundation
- Generally layered soil environment
- Built-in database of soil parameters
- Arbitrary number of load cases
- Modeling of water
- Modeling of sand-gravel cushion (SG bed)
- Modeling of parameters between soil and footing bottom (friction coefficient, friction base-soil)
- Analysis of foundations on drained, undrained or rock subsoil
- Inclined shape of grouted slope
- Inclined footing bottom
- Verification of load eccentricity for bearing capacity and settlement
- General shape of stress diagram under the footing due to combined bending and tension/compression
- Verification of spread footing in tension (standard, cone method, DL/T 5219-2005)
- Settlement analysis exploiting the oedometric modulus specified by the oedometric loading curve
