A flash flood accident occurred at the Ningnan Tunnel, part of the Liangshan Riverside Expressway project in Sichuan Province, on the evening of November 10, 2025, prompting the rapid evacuation of construction workers. Surveillance footage captured the moment when water suddenly gushed into the tunnel at 5:48 p.m., forcing workers to flee toward the entrance.
According to officials from the Ningnan County Emergency Management Bureau, the incident happened in the 13th construction section of the expressway. Authorities confirmed that no injuries or casualties occurred, as all personnel working inside the tunnel escaped in time.
A representative from the Ningnan County Publicity Department said that the expressway project management team will issue a formal statement after determining the cause of the flooding.
