Bentley Systems Incorporated has recently announced the immediate availability of its WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, and HAMMER V8i (SELECTseries 5) information modeling software for the analysis and design of water distribution systems. The particular software editions incorporate all BIM advancements, extending information mobility across water system planning, design, and operations, further improving the collaboration within and between these phases of the infrastructure lifecycle and facilitating better decision making for enhanced project and system performance.

The SELECTseries 5 version of WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, and HAMMER V8i possess new real-time simulation capabilities which improve visibility, forecasting and decision-making support for both modelers and operators. System modelers may now automatically perform supervisory controls and import their acquisition data into their hydraulic models and use them as initial conditions. On the other hand, system operators have the option to publish model results to an existing SCADA system control screen and forecast operating conditions. 

 Among the exciting new capabilities of the SELECTseries 5 releases, users can:

• view both real-time and historical SCADA data
• compare data between SCADA and model results
• monitor SCADA signals as they change in response to real-time events
• and therefore improve decision making

Additionally, unlike other software, the SELECTseries 5 has the ability to model water demands for individual water customers in their correct physical locations, allowing modelers to efficiently manage water demands.
