Our guest speaker, Ph. D Fermín Sanchez Reyes from México Subterráneo A.C., will share his experience and insights into the construction of a highway from Tepic City to Puerto Vallarta City on the Western Coast of Mexico. In this case study, he encountered a significant mass of rock sliding close to a tunnel portal due to an open cut, which was caused by the re-activation of a geological fault.
Dr. Sanchez and his team used PLAXIS to create a 3D geotechnical model to accurately represent the movement of the rock mass and calculate the new excavations, structures, and compacted fills of the project. The team also used a set of 2D PLAXIS cross-sections to complement the information of the 3D model with a higher degree of refinement.
By attending this webinar, you will gain insights into the importance of geotechnical studies in tunneling and the effective use of PLAXIS as a geotechnical analysis tool. Join us for an informative session and learn how reliable geotechnical analysis can help you save time and costs on field work. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn from a real-world case study!
