This webinar provides a general overview of a non-destructive testing method using temperature measurements for drilled or bored deep foundation elements. This innovation in testing gives owners and designers a new tool for assessing the integrity of drilled shafts or continuous flight auger (CFA) piles using the heat generated by the curing cement.
The presenters will discuss the advantages and limitations of common non-destructive tests including Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL) and Gamma-Gamma Logging (GGL); the principles of integrity testing using temperature measurements and procedures for profiling foundation elements; and present some case histories from State Highway Agencies where thermal integrity profiling has been evaluated.
