Τhe Local Organizing Committee (LOC), the Canadian Geotechnical Society (CGS) and the Canadian Permafrost Association (CPA) would like to welcome you to GeoManitoba 2025, the 78th Canadian Geotechnical Conference and 9th Canadian Permafrost Conference.
The theme for GeoManitoba 2025 is ‘Stronger Together’. This theme was selected to reflect the ever-increasing need for collaboration between disciplines in our work. It also reflects the need for tolerance and understanding in our increasingly multi-cultural society. Our profession continues to be at the forefront of many societal challenges ranging from aging infrastructure to climate change, a collaborative spirit will be needed to meet these challenges head-on.
GeoManitoba 2025 will feature many opportunities for networking and learning with colleagues and distinguished speakers. In addition to the technical program and plenary sessions, we will feature a range of eminent keynote speakers, high-level intensive courses, technical tours, and social activities.
The conference will open on Sunday evening with an Icebreaker and Exhibitor Reception. Prior to the icebreaker, in addition to our short courses and tours, we will be hosting a workshop on foundation re-use and decarbonization.
We will also enjoy the world-class Canadian Museum for Human Rights during our Local Colour Night and will honour our colleagues at the annual CGS Awards Banquet.
Immediately prior to GeoManitoba the CGS will be hosting a Young Professional’s conference, if you are eligible to attend, I strongly encourage you to consider doing so and then join us at GeoManitoba!
We are thrilled to have the opportunity to host you in Winnipeg at the RBC Convention Centre and look forward to providing you with an outstanding conference experience!
