Stabilization is required for cut slopes identified to have Factor of Safety values below the design requirement. In this GeoStudio Coffee Corner, we will compare 2D and 3D slope stability analyses of a railway cut with nail reinforcement. The webinar will review how to define reinforcement in 2D and 3D stability analyses, including the use of the new 3D array tool for establishing reinforcement lines at variable spacing, and highlight key differences between the 2D and 3D results. This session will help practitioners understand when a 3D analysis may be warranted over traditional 2D methods, and how to leverage GeoStudio tools for more reliable and efficient slope stabilization designs.
