For the first time, BBC was allowed to fly a drone along Crossrail's tunnels and the video is provided below!
Crossrail's tunnels extend for over 73 miles beneath London area and total construction cost is estimated around £15 billion. The remote controlled camera was allowed to fly through part of the tunnels and captures breathtaking sights of this underground world. Tunneling works required the parallel use of eight TBMs each weighting 1,000 tonnes. The new lines are estimated to serve around 200millions passengers per year, this being translated to a 10% increase to the city's rail capacity.
