HS2 will enter a bored tunnel from a cutting near this point, avoiding Great Missenden, Amersham and the Chalfonts (Chalfont St Giles and Chalfont St Peter). The tunnel will emerge just after the M25 motorway, on the way to London Euston. At the time of filming, the two tunnel boring machine (TBMs) are currently just over half way through boring the twin 10-mile long tunnels.
