Commuters watched in shock as a bus fell backwards into a giant sinkhole in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, during the morning rush hour. Only the driver and one passenger were on the bus at the time of the incident, and they were both able to escape safely. The passenger was treated for minor injuries. The Port Authority of Allegheny County said in a post on Twitter: “For those curious, the heaviest part of the bus is the back because that’s where the engine is located. This bus was stopped at a red light at the time this occurred.” In another tweet, they added: “We are grateful that no one was seriously injured. We’re being told a crane needs to be brought in to remove the bus and it will be several hours before it can be extracted.” #Sinkhole #Pittsburgh #Pennsylvania ReportShow more
