This paper reports field measurements on lateral earth pressures acting on braced walls. The measurements have been observed for 10 years (4 years during excavation and 6 years after completion). The lateral earth pressures were decreased considerably during construction as a result of wall deformation, and gradually recovered after completion with cyclic seasonal pressure changes.
