Logan Century Center 1 construction started

Located in Nanning, China, Logan Century Center 1 is a 386 metres (1,266.4 ft)-tall supertall skyscraper. It consists of 82 floors and is served by 32 elevators. Its construction lasted 5.5 years, from May 2013 to November 2018.

China Zun construction started

The 109-story, 528 m (1,732 ft) supertall skyscraper CITIC Tower (otherwise known as China Zun) is currently the tallest building in Beijing, China. It is a mixed-use building, featuring 60 floors of office space, 20 floors of luxury apartments and 20 floors of hotel with 300 rooms. Its construction took a little over 6 years and was delivered in 2018.

Kurushima Kaikyō Bridge construction started

The world's longest suspension bridge structure when completed in 1999, The Kurushima Kaikyō Bridge connects the island of Ōshima to the main part of Shikoku, in Japan. It consists of three successive suspension bridges with six towers and four anchorages and has a total length of 4,015 metres (13,173 ft).

Moscow Metro opened

Famous for its iconic stations, the Moscow Metro has a route length of 461.5 km (286.8 mi), which makes it the eighth-longest in the world and the longest outside China. It is the busiest metro system in Europe, and is considered a tourist attraction in itself. It consists of 258 stations, with Park Pobedy being the third-deepest metro station of the world.

Mexico City International Airport opened

Built at an altitude of 7,316 ft / 2,230 m, Mexico City International Airport is the busiest airport in Mexico and Latin America by passenger traffic and aircraft movements. It is located in the densely populated Venustiano Carranza district of Mexico City. Its two terminals are connected by a 3 km Aerotrén monorail system (pictured).

First death associated with Hoover dam construction

Bureau of Reclamation employee Harold Connelly was killed after falling from a barge while surveying the Colorado River for an ideal spot for Hoover dam. It was the first of 112 deaths associated with the construction of the dam.
