The Monsoon season has started and heavy rains caused a landslide which has made dozens of people missing. Heavy rains in Nepal, led to a large-scale landslide that buried dozens of residents from six different villages.
The landslide occurred in Taplejung, about 500 km from the capital of Kathmandu country. Dozens of people died tragically, and buried under rubble and mud, while there are many people who have not yet been found. Nevertheless, no one can be sure about the facts, due to the fact that the area is very isolated.
The nearest town to the accident scene is just over five hours on foot, if the weather permits. On Thursday the appearance of heavy rain and fog obstructed the assistance that could be given by helicopters.
Nepal’s residents face a particularly difficult situation, as the country is plagued by Monsoons from June to September, while they are still recovering from the earthquakes, which have claimed more than 8.700 people and devastated many areas.
