Mount Kilauea volcano in Hawaii, one of the most active volcanoes in the world, erupted on Wednesday, June 7.
Furthermore, the eruption started at 4:44 a.m. local time and by the afternoon of the same day, the crater of Halemaʻumaʻu was covered by lava flows ranging from 13 to 30 feet in an area of 370 acres, as the U.S Geological Survey (USGS) stated.
Kilauea had begun erupting again in January, after a brief pause since December, and showed signs of unrest in May.
The spectacular sight is live streamed by the USGS and can be watched here.
