Mohamad Hussein, P.E. Announced as Pile Dynamics, Inc. and GRL Engineers, Inc. Executive Director of Global Industry Relations Featured

Pile Dynamics, Inc. (PDI) and GRL Engineers, Inc. (GRL) cooperatively announce Mr. Mohamad Hussein, P.E. as Executive Director of Global Industry Relations, a newly developed strategic role within the organizations.

Mr. Hussein has been with GRL Engineers since 1982 and currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Executive Vice President and was previously the Manager of the Florida Office for more than 30 years. He is also the past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pile Dynamics, Inc. In his 40+ year career, Mr. Hussein had an early association with the pioneers of deep foundations modern testing and analysis methods and equipment and worked on more than 1,000 deep foundation projects in 30 States in the USA and 15 countries. His work includes hundreds of projects in Florida (many receiving industry awards) and participated in Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) sponsored research on driven piles and drilled shafts in association with several universities.

Mr. Hussein frequently organizes conferences, educational courses, and seminars on deep foundations, including the original IFCEE, the 5^th International Conference on the Application of Stresswave Theory to Piles, and the ongoing American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Continuing Education Course: Deep Foundations Design, Construction, and Quality Control. He also trains engineers, contractors, and the State DOTs on foundation testing and analysis, frequently co-edits conference proceedings and books and has more than 75 technical papers, articles, book chapters, and presentations on deep foundations.

This vast experience in the deep foundations industry was a natural lead into the all-important role as Executive Director of Global Industry Relations. Mr. Hussein, already a sought-after speaker and consultant, will collaborate with engineering, construction, and academia industry partners worldwide to help promote efficient, reliable, and cost-effective quality control and assurance testing methods to advance the use of deep foundations of all types.

Mohamad is a member of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Deep Foundations Institute (DFI), American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), Pile Driving Contractors Association (PDCA), International Association of Foundation Drilling (ADSC), and others. He is a contributing member in several technical committees of these organizations and has Chaired the Deep Foundations Committee of the ASCE’s Geo-Institute and the PDCA’s Education Committee, and currently Chairs the PDCA’s Technical Committee. He is the recipient of several industry recognitions and awards, achieved national and international Expert Level High Strain Dynamic Pile Testing, and is a registered professional engineer in several States.
