Extensive landslide phenomena are developing in the last few days in Amaliada Greece, threatening an entire village. The situation is significantly worsened by rainy weather and scientists monitoring the phenomenon are still unable to make any predictions about its completion.
Entire homes collapse and the local road network has sustained significant damage as a result of the continuous landslides occurring in the village of Analipsi in western Greece. The entire village is now threatened and scientists have performed site investigations in their attempt to explain the causes of the landslide.
Two homes have already collapsed, many others were evacuated and nearly 3 meters of settlement was observed in the main local road of the village, in a 50 meter section. Weather conditions may accelerate the phenomenon with unforeseen consequences.
