CONTROLS Group will supply the testing equipment for the laboratory of the new Storstrøm Bridge in Denmark.

Storstrøm Bridge, with a length of 6.5 kilometers, will be Denmark's 3rd longest bridge. The new construction will replace an older road and rail 4 km-long bridge. The 24m-wide single-support cable-stayed structure will cost €550 million and will have an estimated traffic of about 8,000 cars per day, transit of high-speed trains and pedestrian and cycle lanes. It will connect the islands of Zealand and Falster through the Masnedø Island.

The construction works will initiate later in 2019. It is expected that the road section will open in 2022 followed by the railway, a year later.
