The "Virtual Geoengineer" Database briefly presents specific topics in the geotechnical engineering practice through photos, maps, diagrams and videos using also accompanying texts to provide explanations.

Topics presented in the Virtual Geoengineer include but are not limited to:

  • Photos with details of projects or case histories;
  • Photos of different construction methods with explanations and equipment used in construction;
  • Construction issues on specific projects.

Topics are classified in major geotechnical specializations, indexed and searchable. Please note that all submissions are welcome. If you would be interested in contributing click here.

The Photo Gallery is the largest online collection of photos in geotechnical engineering worldwide.

You are invited to submit also your geo-photos for inclusion in our gallery!

When submitting a photo, please provide the following:

  • The photo in high resolution;
  • A short description of each photo submitted;
  • Location of the Photo;
  • The photographer's name (if available);
  • The sender's name (if different than the photographer's);
  • The approximate date that the photo was taken;

Please be careful when sending descriptions of the photos. Clear and detailed information is required.  

The photographer's name will be added on the photo. All contributions will also be acknowledged at our website.
