The Fourth Vietnam Symposium on Advances in Offshore Engineering (VSOE 2027)

The VSOE committee is pleased to announce the upcoming fourth Symposium, with a focus on "Integrated and Resilient Coastal & Offshore Infrastructure for a Changing Climate." This event is scheduled to take place in Ba Ria, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on November 25-26, 2027. VSOE 2027 aims to advance integrated, climate-resilient approaches to coastal and offshore infrastructure, extending the symposium's traditional offshore geotechnics focus to include coastal engineering, nature-based solutions, and climate risk assessment.

Building on the success of three previous symposia (VSOE 2018, VSOE 2021/2022, and VSOE 2024), VSOE 2027 will continue to serve as a platform for participants to share and discuss the latest advancements in offshore and coastal engineering, integrated infrastructure approaches, and climate adaptation strategies. This edition also marks the symposium's first time being co-organized with PetroVietnam University (PVU), located in Ba Ria, a coastal city increasingly central to Vietnam's offshore energy transition.

VSOE 2027 invites researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to engage in this forward-looking dialogue on the future of coastal and offshore infrastructure development, both in Vietnam and globally.

VSOE 2027 is organized under the auspices of TC 209 and TC 308 of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), as well as the Vietnam Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (VSSMGE). This continues the auspices held by VSOE since its inaugural 2018 edition.
