The Hellenic Association for Earthquake Engineering invites you to the webinar titled "Lessons learnt after the Feb 6th earthquake sequence in Turkiye. The Hellenic Reconnaissance Mission of April 21-25” on Wednesday the 12^th of July, at 17:00 (Eastern European Summer Time).

The Technical Chamber of Greece (TCG), in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and the Hellenic Association for Earthquake Engineering (HAEE) organized a mission of 17 engineers in Turkiye, during 21-25 of April 2023, in the aftermath of the earthquakes of February 6, with epicenter in Kahramanmaraş.

The Greek mission’s goal, the results of which will be presented in the webinar, was the collection of observations and the analysis of buildings that collapsed or sustained serious damage, in order for the findings to be utilized in research and education purposes. Meanwhile, the opportunity for in-situ study of the seismic behavior of structures under significant earthquake accelerations-which generally surpassed the ones of the seismic design-will greatly contribute to research feedback for the development of strategies aimed at minimizing catastrophic losses due to earthquakes.
