January GeoStudio TechTalk will continue with another segment of the SIGMA/W Materials Models Series by discussing the new Soft Soil material model available in GeoStudio 2021.4. The Soft Soil model is formulated within the generalized elastic-plastic framework and takes advantage of some features of the Modified Cam Clay model. This constitutive model was primarily developed for simulating the response of highly compressible soils such as normally consolidated clays and clayey silts. The Soft Soil material model is formulated to deal with stresses in the supercritical region of the yield surface.
GeoStudio TechTalk is a monthly webinar series presented by in-house GeoStudio engineers. Each monthly webinar is designed to improve understanding of the software and ultimately help users create better numerical analyses.
