8th International Conference on Debris Flow Hazard Mitigation

The 8th International Conference on Debris Flow Hazard Mitigation DFHM8 will be held at the Politecnico di Torino conference facilities in Turin, Italy, on 26-29 June 2023.

The conference will be a platform for participants to discuss the current situation, challenges, and advancements related to debris flows, from triggering to deposition, passing through the analysis of their propagation dynamics and interaction with mitigation structures. Physical and numerical modelling together with the description of real cases, site surveys and investigations will be the tools to allow sharing novelty, experiences and best practices.

With this in mind, and following the successful 7th edition held in Colorado, USA, in 2019, the Organizing Committee has set the goal to prepare a stimulating scientific program for scientists, professionals, and policy makers.

Contributions to the conference will be in the form of an extended abstract (2 to 4 pages). The deadline for submitting an abstract is the 10^th of June 2022. Rules and instructions are reported on the website, together with updated information on the conference: www.dfhm8.polito.it.
