Professor Zenon Medina-Cetina of Texas A&M University and Dr. Marco Uzielli, founder of Georisk Engineering S.r.l, join forces to present a 90 minutes webinar as a contribution from the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) Technical Committee on Risk Assessment.
You can access the ISSMGE Recorded Webinar by clicking here.
The webinar introduces basic definitions and applications of Risk Assessment to Geotechnical Engineering. The main objective of the webinar is to provide a sound overview of the principles, methods and implications of framing Geotechnical Engineering practice within a Quantitative Risk Assessment.
The proposed approach is based on common practice established within the technical committee TC-304 Engineering Practice of Risk Assessment & Management of the ISSMGE. The webinar includes the homogenization of technical terms of Risk, a discussion on a quantitative framework reference of Risk, the corresponding Risk estimation methods, and presents illustrative case studies of various degrees of complexity.
